Building future Asatizah will not be possible without the community’s support.

A Young Aspiring Ustaz

Umar Rasyideen Mohamed Salehin, 12, is a primary six student in Madrasah Irsyad Zuhri Al-Islamiah. He is the eldest among four siblings. Throughout his education in madrasah, Umar has achieved excellence in both religious and academic subjects. He is also a gold medalist for a musabaqah and tahfiz competition in his madrasah and at national level in 2019.

His dream is to be an ustaz and tahfiz one day.

Even at a young age, Umar knows his successes will not be possible without the support of the community. Zakat dstributed through PROMAS bursaries he received has helped to ease his family’s financial burdens to pay for his monthly school fees.

“I am grateful to be able to receive PROMAS yearly and feel indebted to the community who have contributed Zakat to support students like myself.

Now, I am involved in many mosque activities such as reciting the Quran or qasidah during events and calling out the azan for prayer times in Ramadan. This is my contribution to the community.”
