Our Madrasah Privacy Policy

  1. We may use “cookies”, where a small data file is sent to your browser to store and track information about you when you enter our websites. The cookie is used to track information such as the number of users and their frequency of use, profiles of users and their preferred sites.     (c) For your convenience, we may also display to you data you had previously supplied us or other Government Agencies. This will speed up the transaction and save you the trouble of repeating previous submissions. Should the data be out-of-date, please supply us the latest data.

PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION POLICY

Introduction
In view of the enactment of the Personal Data Protection Act effective from October 2022, Our Madrasah has put in place a personal data privacy policy in relation to the collection, use, disclosure and/or process of your child/ward and/or your personal data in dealings with Our Madrasah.

1. Personal Data
In this Data Protection Policy, “Personal Data” means information about your child/children or you, whether true or not, set out in your child’s/ward’s applications and documents and any other personal information voluntarily provided by you and processed by us. Some examples are, but not limited to, name, age, citizenship, identification number, academic status and results, sports achievements, medical and disability information, residential address, mobile and residential telephone number, personal email address, bank account, photograph or video image, etc.

2. Collection, Use and Disclosure
It is Our Madrasah’s policy to treat all data as confidential and strictly for internal use only. Our Madrasah will use the personal data that it collects only for the purposes allowable as indicated following guidelines from Personal Data Protection Act.

In the event that Our Madrasah tends to use data provided for other purposes beyond the original intent of data collection, the Our Madrasah will seek the written permission from parents and/or guardians before using the data unless requested by government agencies.

In particular, the Our Madrasah may:

1. Maintain contact with students for administration, fundraising, marketing or promotional purposes relating to the Our Madrasah, eg. Alumni. Our Madrasah will remain as the data controller and this policy will govern data usage.
2. Make use of photographs, videos or sound recordings of students in Madrasah publications, Our Madrasah website and other official Our Madrasah communications channels.
3. Photographs, videos or sound recordings of students will not be used in publicity campaigns placed with external outlets without the express permission from parents/guardians.
4. Make personal data, including sensitive personal data, available to staff for planning activities and trips, both in and outside of Singapore.
5. Retain and use personal data after a student has graduated to provide references, educational history and alumni services consistent with an independent school environment.

3. Access and Correction of Personal Data
You have the right to request access to, update and/or correct your child’s/ward’s and/or your personal data held by us. Please send your request to [email protected] with the subject ‘PDPA enquiry’. Our Madrasah will consider the request and respond within 14 working days.

4. Withdrawal of Consent
You may withdraw your consent given, whether in part or as a whole. Should you wish to withdraw your consent, please send an email to [email protected] and provide details of your withdrawal request. Our Madrasah will consider the request and respond within 14 working days. Please note that with the withdrawal of consent to any or all use or disclosure of personal data, depending on the nature of the request, Our Madrasah may not be in a position to continue to provide the services or administer any contractual relationship that is in place. Such withdrawal may also result in the termination of any agreement with Our Madrasah. Our Madrasah’s legal rights and remedies are expressly reserved in such a case.

5. Data Security
Our Madrasah undertakes to implement appropriate security measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access, in particular when processing of data involves the transmission or storage on or within a network.
